Of course Emma Wats*n is another white feminist who feels the need to say that Beyonce isn’t a feminist.
Since white feminists are coming in the notes and saying that I am needlessly pointing out an issue that doesn’t deserve merit the issue and am too busy targeting white people, I will respond here. The issue is that Wats*n doesn’t explicitly say that Beyonce isn’t a feminist but she says that in her music videos for her visual album she says that
on the one hand she is putting herself in a category of a feminist, the camera, it felt very male, such a male voyeuristic experience of her
which is illustrating that Beyonce, a woman who has at least ten years on her with years of experience in the public eye from a young age, has apparently no control over her image. Frankly that is very insulting to Beyonce since Wats*n is saying that Beyonce isn’t in control of her image when really if there’s one thing central to her, it’s how much she is in complete control of her image and presentation because she’s that savvy and smart. It reeks of ‘well you tried but you’re still not good enough’ which Tavi immediately responded to by saying that in fact “I felt that she was in control of it” after doing meticulous research.
It’s really hard to get through season 2 of The Tudors cause everytime Natalie Dormer becomes upset, I get enraged and super protective. LIKE YOU MESS WITH HER, YOU MESS WITH ME BRUH, I DONT CARE IF YOU ARE THE KING OF ENGLAND!
Ugh my paper is supposed to be 1250 at the least but I’m pretty much convinced I’m only gonna get to about 1100. I am seriously out of things to discuss…
I have only about 350 words left in this stupid fucking paper and I’ve officially run out of things to say. Like.. ‘conclude with an explanation as to why these terms will help with your studies of religion more than others’. Oh I don’t really fucking know, and I really don’t fucking care. I don’t get these terms AT ALL, they’re long, over-complicated and unnecessary and I don’t think I could say that any concepts truly benefit my studies. Why? Because they’re just over complex theories, and I’m an undergrad pursuing a minor in religion, not a grad student who actually applies these terms to research.
I just found my religion prof’s personal blog in which he makes fun of a student for confusing an exorcist with exercise. He’s the kind of prof who gets all up in arms about not being addressed as ‘Professor’ in corresponding emails with students and also is super condescending about students not using ‘proper English’. But then also calls himself a feminist and socialist. Ya ok keep telling yourself that while you contribute to classism, ableism and power hierarchy, whatevs dude.
